    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The insight day included various activities which were all really interesting and helped to prepare me for the application process of BDO and similar firms.

    • Very valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • We were encouraged to ask questions to the staff members that were present at the insight day. They gave me a lot of guidance on interview techniques/ application forms etc.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The skills I learnt helped me at an assessment centre I attended recently. I am using the information I gained at the insight day to help me prepare for upcoming interviews.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • It was a very well structured day comprising talks from various people within the organisation, a commercial awareness activity and a quiz. We were told the outline of the day at the beginning.

    • It was great - we were always busy with a task or networking with staff from BDO.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • The day in itself was an investment in the students who attended; the guidance I gained is helping me in job applications now.

    • We were told about various roles that were available to students and they explained what those roles would entail.

    • Yes - the staff there talked a lot about the culture of the company and explained how we could bring those details into interview situations.

    • Very helpful - I am now applying to large accounting firms for summer internships.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • I was happy with the arrangements; I live locally so it didn't cost me a lot to attend the day.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Yes - several employees attended the day so we could ask them questions about their roles, the application process etc.
