  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I found the day very enjoyable and thought the representatives gave an informative yet personal presentation of what it is like working for BDO.

    • Very valued, Everybody took the time out to speak to me and kept in regular contact during the application process.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • Any questions that I had were answered and I came away with a much stronger understanding of where I wanted to go with my career and that BDO was the company I wanted to work for.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The event was an Insight Day, therefore we were all given an overview of the company rather than starting to develop the necessary skills. However, it was a very good grounding to get started and we were made aware of the requirements and expectations of the firm.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • We had the opportunity to speak to several employees and trainees, as well as listening to presentations about the firm. The day was very well structured.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • I loved it! Obviously it was a formal occasion, yet everyone seemed very approachable and we were given the opportunity to network over lunch.

    • Not applicable to the Insight Day.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • We were given the opportunity to speak to several new trainees about their role and what is required and got a feel for the busy, yet exciting atmosphere at BDO.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

    • Very much so. The staff were very approachable, from Partner level to Trainee, and I felt the company's core values were really represented by this and the general atmosphere in the office.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?

    • I had attended a few Insight Events prior to BDO's and I came away feeling very enthusiastic and determined that this was the career I wanted and in particular working for BDO.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • Not applicable to the Insight Day.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • As I have mentioned previously, we were introduced to many employees at various levels of the hierarchy and given the opportunity to find out more about their career.

    • The majority of the day was really about networking - we were given lots of opportunity to ask questions and meet colleagues.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • I completed some research prior to attending the Insight Day where employees mentioned the different social events that are held and I was able to ask about these further at the Insight Day.

    • Absolutely, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I would really recommend it to others.
