The Role
I was given a variety of different tasks offering exposure to a wide variety of areas within my internship. I was able to contribute thoughts as to areas I would like to learn more about and those I was perhaps not as interested in.
I genuinly feel my immediate team have valued my contribution. I have been involved in key projects rather than having projects simply created to keep me busy.
My management during my time with Allianz has been undeniably fantastic. No problem was too large or too small. Help and guidence has been given when required and an active and positive interest has been taken in what I hoped to achieve during my internship.
At the beginning of my internship I was provided with a 9 week job list, covering a wide variety of tasks. Additional tasks have been added to meet business requirements. I have been very busy through out my internship, however, I feel I have taken additional opportunities avaliable - making me very busy on some occassions. I have viewed the interships as a means of gaining as much experience as possible therefore I do not think I could ever have been "too busy."
I have been given significant reponsibility from my immediate team, completing tasks and reports to set deadlines.
I have gained a vast variety of skills during my placement, from using partiuclar marketing tools to preparing branded documents. I have gained exposure of working within a marketing corporate environment which will assist me greatly beyond my studies.
The Company
Positive, enthusiastic and hard working. Everyone has been lovely and always prepared to make time to help or introduce me to their specific role.
Everything has been organised very well, including: induction packs before arrival giving relocation information, project lists, seating plans, feedback meetings and buddy allocation.
My manager has always been fully prepared to set time aside to teach me marketing skills he feels are useful within my specific team but also marketing in general.

Interns have the option to apply for the graduate programme prior to general applicants - some fast-track measures are in place for specific schemes.
The Culture
A large group of interns are based in the head office with additional offices not being very far away there have been ample opportunity to organise events outside work.
Cost of living is very high in Guildford, however intern wages are fairly reflective of this.
A few clubs and lots of bars with beer gardens.
Lots of activities in and around Guildford (large university) - also London is not too far away.
