  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Throughly enjoyed the internship.

  • Given a lot of support and assistance, but also felt like I was adding value to the work they were doing.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • A lot of help, but I was also expected to do my own learning and research into the banks processes and general market conditions.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Expected to stay late/start earlier than usual if there was a deal that needed working on, but also plenty of opportunity to leave earlier in quieter periods

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Difficult to 'run the show' in a small specialised finance team, but I was given plenty of opportunity to manage my own time and work load

  • Learnt a lot about the corporate finance market

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really enjoyable team to work within, incredibly knowledgable about their specific fields. However, it is also a serious and intense working environment when it needs to be.

  • Slightly disappointing compared to last year, however a pretty good job was done due to certain members of the HR team leaving.

  • Great opportunities to see other parts of the business, everyone at HSBC has time to answer questions or queries you may have.

  • Nightlife is pretty standard for a big city.
