  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of my work was project based so I had to apply my own time management methods. This kept me ahead of dealines, but there was plenty to do and it is easy to get behind if you are not organised.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone is very friendly and up for a laugh, but I joined during a busy time. The whole organisation were restructuring, as well as HR. This meant that there wasn't much time for a social chat round the coffee machine. Everyone has lunch at their desk!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Everything went down without a hitch. I got everything I needed through the post or from the phone conversations. During the placement I already had a number of projects set up and I was never left wondering what was going on, or confused about where to go next.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The GSK has given me every opporunity to do courses, learning activities, focus groups and town halls. The organisation has invested a lot of time in my training and development.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • HR is restructuring and they are cutting down on a huge number of professionals. Therefore I do not think the prospects are very good for a future career. Maybe in three years time.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we regularly scheduled nights out in central London.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living and socialising in London is very expensive. That shouldn't be a suprise to anyone.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Its London!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We got involved in some charity work, but really there isn't much time between work, gym and social.
