    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A thoroughly enjoyable but extremely challenging placement year with massive responsibility and self determination needed from the start.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • During store time everyone helps each other to get the work done.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When starting the placement you are assigned an experienced area manager for help and support during the year.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Standard contract amounted to 48hours a week, however you may find that you go over this on occasion during store time and during project work to complete tasks fully.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • In store you start as assistant manager for your chosen store and are responsible for the general running of everything involved with the store, in this instance you are in charge of a team of highly efficient store assistants and must ensure everyone is being used effectively. I found from the year that it is up to you entirely on the level of progression or responsibility you get.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The self focus, professionalism and attention to detail taken from this placement will make going back for my third year feel like a walk in the park.
