About You
While in the corporate department, I got to do actual work for trainees such as research memorandums that were actually passed on to their supervisors.
Supervisors and graduate recruitment were extremely friendly and helpful.
Research skills, communication skills, networking skills
The Company
Good balance of actual work, information sessions/lectures and social events.
Small group of interns (14 people) so everyone knew each other and the group was rather cohesive.
Time investment.
Got to find out not only about the official "culture" of the company as described in their graduate recruitment materials, but also got to experience firsthand the open-door, non-hierarchical and innovative office culture
Everything Else
I was paid the standard industry rate for summer vacation schemes (law).
Social events were on the low-budget side of things as compared to some other firms that I had vacation schemes with, however there were always partners, associates and trainees present.
Did not really get to find out much about this.
Overall, an amazing and extremely useful experience. Made me want to work with the firm (if they did offer me a TC).
