The Role
After a slow start the role that I have in the organisation fulfilled my expectations.
I am valued in my team and project groups and feel that I am integrated into the work well, knowing that I will leave behind a gap when I leave.
I have had loads of support from the very start and colleagues will happily answer my questions when I ask them for help.
There were points within the placement where I have been bored for small periods but this has been balanced by points where my time management skills have been put to the test as my time has been so in demand. Generally I am happy with the workload.
I could have been given more probability but the majority f the tasks were self run, the tasks were quite simple even though the consequences of failing to do the tasks were serious.
I have developed a large collection of skills including time management, lab skills and research skills that will be invaluable at uni
The Company
Atmosphere is really good as we are all really friendly and make any sort of work enjoyable regardless of the dullness of the actual task.
Except from the start I have fitted into the world of work and the organisation very well, I have had loads of amazing opportunities.
I have taken part in many different training courses from presentation skills to fire training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I have shown an net rest in sponsorship opportunities but need the final details to be confirmed.
The Culture
Really good, especially with cmi weekends.
Quite expensive as live in the middle of nowhere so taxi/ travel is costly and then going out is not cheap e.g. Drinks and food.
Poor nightlife as plenty of pubs but little venues specifically for age group
Steps programme organised lots of events
