The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement at WB. It was a fantastic and worthwhile experience.
I was made to feel very welcome by everyone and felt very happy/comfortable working here.
I was given all the support and guidance I needed and I always felt confident I could turn to another member of the team if I needed any assistance.
Workload can vary greatly depending on the time of year. The run up to Christmas can be an extremely busy period whereas the summer time can be a little quieter. However there is always something to be getting on with so there were never any times where I was bored with nothing to do.
Overall I felt I was given a lot of responsibility during the year. As I got longer into my placement, the levels of responsibility I was given kept increasing and I was given more and more complex tasks to complete.
I think completing this placement will be of great assistance to me in my future working career
The Company
There is a great intern set up here at WB. Throughout the year there are several 'intern training days' that are designed to enhance key working skills that I found extremely helpful.
I felt the firm invested a lot into myself and all the other interns. I was able to take an Excel training course in my first month of the job which was particularly helpful, as well as the intern training days that I mentioned above.
Sports and Social Club
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
At the moment, WB doesn't have a graduate scheme however, if the right entry level job opens up WB have a good record of rehiring previous interns so you never know what the future holds!
The Culture
There were over 40 other interns at WB this year and I everyone in my department got along great so there was a big group to socialise with.
Unfortunately there is no getting away from the fact London is an expensive place to live/socialise.
Being based in London, the nightlife was fantastic.
There are many opportunities to get involved with activities outside of work, for example, the WB football team. It just depends on what you want to do.
