    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the varierty and felt that people cared and were interested in what I was doing.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everybody I have worked with, even if for a day, has been welcoming and willing to answer any queries. I have fitted into a team and felt as valued by my collegues.

  • Support is always there if needed, you just have to ask.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In my first two modules I was busy and it was great, however in the last module there was less for me to have ownership over and wasn't as busy.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Although not everyday.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I will take with me skills I have developed to aid me in my final year and beyond.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • At times it was stressful, but generally very enjoyable.

  • Very well organised with great structure.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I enjoyed the training days we had in Leatherhead and felt they were structured well towards us as placement students. The basic training in store and the warehouse had a set training guide and felt this was adhered to and covered most things. Development through the placement came through facing new challenges and appraisals.

  • I would love to work for the company in the future.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I will be keeping in contact with the other placement students after the placement.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As expected.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife where I lived was great. I was in a shared house and socialised more with them than work collegues as I was a 45 minute drive from work.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were groups organised for football and running but not particuarly advertised.
