    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement was varied with lots of different aspects and learnings. However, in the start this can be a lot of information to get your head round.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The technical team were incredibly welcoming and help was always there if I needed it, however the wider team were more distant and I don't think appreciated my work.

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was very supportive and no question was too silly, she always had time for my development and I really enjoyed working with her.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At Tesco you are always very busy and there is possibly much too for an undergraduate to take on, however help was always offered.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My manager left on maternity leave and there was a gap of a couple of weeks before there was replacement cover, for those couple of weeks I was basically running my own category!

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My placement opened my eyes to the commercial world, there was a detailed undergraduate programme in which there was a lot of relevant training which I will take back to uni and further.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was already a great atmosphere in the office with a constant buzz. However, you still had enough quiet time to get on with your tasks.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The Undergraduate team were very well organised however, moving into the category there seemed to be a lack of communication, this should be improved going forward.
