The Role
Overall it was good as a first experience of work, but I didn't get that much responsibility or development opportunities.
I was valued, but I wasn't given work in correlation with my capabilities. I felt as though I had much much more to offer - I think the firm was hesistant to give me too much responsibility as I was new.
A lot of guidance and support was given for all of my tasks. This allowed me to feel comfortable when undertaking tasks.
Overall not enough work, I would say on average I had about 3 days work to do per week (full time job).
I was given work that was necessary, but not really critical to the business. I suppose as an intern you will not be given the high level stuff. More of the simple dull stuff where your seniors do not have time doing.
Not at all really. I wasn't given any training and the work was largely irrelevant to my degree. BAE give much better engineering internships.
The Company
It was quite quiet and not much happened from day to day. There was some banter between me and other employees which lightened the mood at times.
My manager organised my work, but was often very busy and not able to give me the feedback and support I would have liked.
I was given no training on the internship. I think this was poor. However, I did receive on the job training which was useful
I won't be going back to join the company when I graduate.
The Culture
I was the only placement student there, and we never went out after work.
It was quite cheap, in Bristol its fun to go out.
Great nightlife in bristol.
No opportunities. But i suppose you are free to create some yourself.
