    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have enjoyed it a lot so far in my placement. It has been a great experience and I have learnt a lot that will probably be useful in my future, while and after my degree.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The people here are overall great and I genuinely mean that. Everyone will quite happily talk to you and help you when needed, inside and outside the IS department.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor has been really helpful in answering any questions I have had and will go out her way to find out any answers that she doesn't know immediately.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would guess overall this would balance out fairly well, but due to the job it varys between being very busy to sometimes quiet depending on the time of day and what is happening globally.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was treated exactly the same and given the same responsibility as anyone on the helpdesk globally. I don't believe I was treated any different because I was a student.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I defiantly got some in-depth knowledge on various systems.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The open space office with a small number of staff was great for information sharing and a quick chat.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • When I started everything I needed to/ may want to do was planned out and discussed with me.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Alot of the training is largely on the job, just because of the broad nature of the problems that can be faced. There is alot of support and help available.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Don't have any formal graduate programme and have limited positions which are generally fulfilled within IS specifically. I was fully aware of this before starting my placement.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As I said earlier the people are great and this includes doing stuff outside of work.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was based nearby before anyway, so knew what to expect. Would say its pretty normal, not really expensive.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It is okay, but for me its all about who you are with.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Active sports and social club and also lots of chances to arrange stuff with colleagues.

    4/5
