  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It truly was a great learning experience. I have learned a lot of things relating not only to the banking industry or the firm itself, but also some very important life skills. I feel I've gained sufficient information to decide whether this is really the career that I want to further pursue.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was structured quite nicely. Each day was entirely about a specific field within the firm, making you learn a lot more about different areas of the firm's business that you might not have considered before. Even with all the presentations and workshops, there was still enough time to socialise and network with people.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Nearly all people were very positive and friendly throughout the week. I had the chance to really connect with a few people which contributed to all of us really enjoying our time at the office. There were a few social events, including general knowledge and banking related quizzes which really helped everyone relax and enjoy themselves. Even the employees that I have talked to during the networking events always had some interesting stories to share.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel that the firm gave us their best in terms of everything. We had the opportunity to learn from some quite amazing people and not only about banking and finance, but also about some terrific life skills. I cannot think of anything negative to say, really!

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It was an invaluable experience. Everything you read about before attending the actual event doesn't even cover half of it. Getting that first-hand experience and talking to the current employees really helped me understand what it would feel like to be a full time employee.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Extremely helpful. During the week we had the opportunity to talk to many employees from nearly all ranks of the firm. This gave us a clear picture of the kind of people the firm values. The company culture was undoubtedly the aspect that impressed me the most.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The Spring Week helped me get the information I needed, and more! I have learned about different areas of the firm that I am now also considering, along with what I had in mind prior to attending the programme.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Travel and accommodation were provided by the company, as well as breakfast/lunch during the week.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • A lot of networking sessions every day and with employees from various ranks. They really put emphasis on the networking during the week.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Networking events allowed me to meet employees from nearly all areas of the bank. It really helped me get the answers to all my questions. The best thing about them was that they weren't one-sided, the company's employees also made the effort to approach and talk to us - and seemed to enjoy it as well!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. This was one of the topics I wanted to get the most answers to. It is something you cannot really research about on the internet. We were encouraged by the graduate recruitment team to ask anything we would like to know, and to really use the opportunity to find out as much as we can about everything a career at the firm would entail.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Already have.
