  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I thought it was a really good way of getting students thinking about a career in accountancy! I particularly enjoyed meeting other like minded students and networking with the staff from Deloitte.

    • The staff were so friendly! I was definitely not expecting that! It all helped to make me feel valued throughout!

    • We received a lot of guidance through presentations which gave us an idea about which service line would be best suited to us.

    • I felt like my communication skills improved, especially those whilst working in teams!

    • Very well structured, all tasks were kept to a strict time schedule.

    • Over the few days, the atmosphere was great! I had a really good time!

    • The company spent a lot of their resources during the insight to coach us!

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • It is difficult to know what it would be like with a full time job given that we were only there for a few days and although the tasks were meant to simulate the working environment, it was difficult to forget that this was a training exercise!

    • I learnt a lot about their culture and I felt that they have a great work hard play hard ethos!

    • It gave me a good idea and I chose to pursue an internship in this industry.

    • Travel expenses were covered by Deloitte.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • I got to meet a couple of graduates over the few days and often got to speak to the senior staff doing the presentations.

    • The networking activities were fun, I felt that there could have been a few more activities but given that it was only an insight I thought that they made good use of the time they had!

    • They mentioned that there were a few different network groups as well as sports activities.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?

    • Yes! I had a great experience and I think anyone considering accountancy should try and sample what a big 4 firm has to offer.
