    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The Spring into Deloitte insight was a great few days tailored to helping us finding out whether Deloitte is the place for us. I really enjoyed the interaction that I had especially with the other students.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • I felt that the Deloitte staff really took the initiative to make us feel welcome throughout and made us feel like part of the firm despite the insight only lasting for a few days!

    • After group activities we received guidance in the form of debriefs which was really useful and helped us as a team develop during the insight.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I got to learn which area I would be most suited to within Deloitte and it guided me in the direction of pursuing a placement year.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The insight was very well structured. Facilitators knew the task back to front and really helped us gain an understanding of the aims of the tasks.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • The atmosphere was good. It was by no means an exhilarating atmosphere but at the same time I felt that it was good given the professional atmosphere.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • I felt that the company invested in us by providing a great set of facilitators as well as senior members of staff whom spent time getting to know us on a more personal level.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • As it was only an insight, it is difficult to get a full flavour of what it would be like to have a full time job but we were told that the team activities simulate real working tasks one may come across.

    • Deloitte is a very people focussed company and this came across really well through presentations.

    • It encouraged me to take up a placement year in an accountancy firm

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • My expenses were fully reimbursed! Was very happy with that as I came all the way from university.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • There were a few opportunities, however I felt that this could have been improved! Given the short nature of the insight I thought that the opportunities were okay.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

    • As mentioned I tended to socialise whilst I was having lunch or after the days events. The staff were all very conscientious and informative.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • We were told that there were a few out of hours activities. For instance Deloitte had a team in the local league.

    • I would recommend it if you are considering a career in this sector.
