    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like I was valued by my team and wider colleagues and not just considered as a student. In my role I frequently had people ask me to help them with projects and work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had frequent 121s with my manager as well as quarterly reviews, these ensured that I was being provided with the support and feedback I required to do the job. As a team we also had monthly team meetings and as we sat together if I ever had a question all I had to do was ask.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The department was always extremely busy even during typically quieter periods such as holiday time. I was given plenty of tasks and projects to keep me busy, but my manager ensured I still received support with these if required.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given plenty of responsibility and produced some key pieces of material for the department.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed at Baxter will be invaluable in any graduate role I enter.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office is usually very busy, it can be quite loud at times, but generally it's a very energetic place.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement programme has been well organised, there were frequent meetings and I knew what to expect from the year.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    Healthcare from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Baxter runs a Sales and Marketing Graduate scheme which is open to all of its placement students.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living and socialising in the area was very expensive. However if you are happy to move a little bit further away from Compton, places like Reading are very reasonable.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The office is situated in a small village in Berkshire, there are a few pubs in the area which provide you with nice food, but there is not much of a nightlife.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There's a lot of opportunities. During my time at Baxter I have been involved in Baxter's annual fundraising show, volunteering for Baxter's charity of the year, run with a team for the Great South Run, gone to activities organised by the social committee and the Christmas party.

    5/5
