    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It's been a fantastic learning experience. You get a real insight in to how a business is run and it really helps develop your skills for management. I have enjoyed it but expect to work very hard!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Prepare to be quite self-motivated as there is not always time to talk about any problems or issues you may have. As a manager they have to be running the business and trying to develop their employees as well. If you need support - demand it!

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • 4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Every intern and graduate gets their own responsibilities given to them. If you can successfully complete those then ask for more, and you will be running the office in no time.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 10/10 - The amount of skills you learn, from dealing with difficult customers, to reaching targets and deadlines is second to none. I have got so much experience in most fields of business now (just by working at Enterprise) and I look forward to finding out what I can achieve in the future. It will definitely assist me in my studies and I shall be writing my dissertation on Enterprise!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Unfortunately in my experience - my manager did not have the most joyous of personalities. This sometimes effected the mood of everyone in the branch. Most of the time it was positive but it is hard to keep a smiley face when the people above you are unhappy.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The training and development throughout is incredible. Very well organised and exceptionally well catered for (always supplied good grub on training days). You get monthly emails about when your next training session will be - so it gives you something to look forward to and also gives you a day out of the office.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invest a lot of time in personal training and development from day 1. The training days and mentor meetings are really important to attend and will help to improve and develop your experience as an intern. My manager was really good at organising meetings to see how I can improve as an intern at the beginning of my placement. However, it became quite difficult to keep this going continuously as there were some changes to the branch which made it hard to organise on a regular basis. I would have prefered the internship more if we had more team meetings and one-on-ones to see where I could have improved and developed.
