  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Enjoyable placement, as I was given meaningful work right from the start. It took me a while to settle in as I was new to the area.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I joined a team that had a been working with each other for years, so it was sometimes difficult to gain respect from certain colleagues. After a while, trust was built up and I felt more respected.

    • Lots of guidance given by management in terms of training courses and future opportunities.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Started off very busy, trying to get tro grips with the site and the business. I remained busy throughout the placement, as the project I was working on in on-going.

    • Lots of responsibility given during the placement to make decisions regarding my project.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Interpersonal skills developed by working with a variety of different people including operators, contractors and mangement. A great insight into a manufacturing facility as well as project management skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Very quite and serious office most of the time due to the workload, but regular coffee breaks to have a laugh.

    • Very well organised through HR.

    • Lots of opportunities to carry out training courses. Actively encouraged to go on relevant training to further own learning.

    • Very appealing future employment opportunities, including a very well structured graduate scheme with the chance to move around the business every 6 months.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Lots of placement students, graduates and ex-graduates for outside of work events such as football and other sports.

    • Great value in Newcastle. Great city for finding something to do, whatever you're into.

    • Brilliant nights out in Newcastle.
