    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good placement, was given responcibility, but also provided with help when needed. I also learnt a lot on this placement due to everyone being so helpful. My collegues also knew I was very interested in the job so they were keen to help me out.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Good friendly staff who do not look down on you. I felt just like any other employee. My collegues knew I was a student so they were patient with me but they never made me feel inferior or less important than anyone else

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Were provided with training on using the systems, received notes from previous placement student and evryone was happy to help out.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a lot of improvements I wanted to make but didn't get chance as I was so busy. We were fairly busy some months and others not soo much. I think the longest day I did was 12 hours and the shorted 7.5 hours

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Were given responcibility but everything has to be checked and payments signed off by managers, but this is the same for everyone.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Confidence and excel skills are the main things gained, which will be useful afterwards. I learnt some important formulas such as Vlookups and Hlookups as well as pivot tables

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere lots of banter. Everyone was very easy going so this helped pass the day. We all got on well and so I enjoyed coming into work and did not mind working late on occasion to help the team out.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were HR staff in charge of all placement students, but you didnt really have time for this once you had taken on the responcibility of your role. But overall I was well directed and there was never a time where i did not know what I was doing or where i was going

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had to do a couple of presentations.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • My manager would like me to return. However, there has to be a business need for the company to employ anyone. Hopefully, as i worked pretty hard they should offer me a place, as I have heard they usually do.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I never got involved with any other student. But if you wanted to I am sure you would be more than welcome to. Other students were very friendly.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's not bad for a big city. If you can get a house share that would be your cheapest option. If you go solo and want a flat for yourself in city centre then that could be quite expensive.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Amazing night life - Leeds has lots of student who love to party. There is also no shortage of clubs! you can party evry night of the week if you wanted to (not recommended) :)

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a volunteerig opportunity but that was before i joined. We did team building activities.
