  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • It was a fantastic two day scheme with a vast array of workshops to do, additionally with very enjoyable social events and trainee shadowing.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • I felt as much 'like family' as I could have given the length of the scheme. Everyone was very welcome from trainees to partners.

    • The workshops I conducted were supported excellently, with enough vagueness to provide some independent thought into the process. The shadowing was well supported, being given interesting work to do.

    • The day has confirmed my interest in commercial law. It has given me a very informing insight into a commercial law firm and the work that they do.

    • The workshop went seamlessly, with everything well organised and presented.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • The fun only stopped when I fell asleep. The people I was with were engaging and interesting and the amount of activities scheduled keep you very busy.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • They invested a huge amount for a workshop scheme. Providing fantastic social events, involvement from many members of staff, accommodation and being well fed!

    • With the limited amount of time available it gave me the best insight it could have done short of a vacation scheme.

    • The company culture was portrayed very well, as friendly, supportive and an engaging environment.

    • I will certainly be applying to Herbert Smith after this insight workshop.

    • Reimbursed on all travel expenses!

    • I met a wide variety of employees of the firm. From partners, graduate recruitment, associates and trainees.

    • We went to the Shard and the Swan Inn, it doesn't get much better for opportunities!

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • Speaking with employees was a good opportunity to find out about the activities they engage with outside of work. Although information provided by the firm provides information about some of the things that they offer at least.

    • Very informative day and perfect for anyone considering a career in commercial law.
