  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This internship was tailored to answers given in the interview and previous experience, therefore we were able to develop our current skills, as well as learning new ones

  • Colleagues in my department were very friendly and I always felt comfrotable asking questions or for help. I also received very positive feedback from my colleagues and other staff around the business

  • I received great support from colleagues in my area, as well as my line manager, who arranged weekly meetings to check my progress.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a very varied workload, especially at the beginning of the placement, however this evened out later on in the placement as I was given more long-term projects

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a lot of responsibility during my placement, and never felt like people were 'checking up' on me.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills I've learnt will help me to some degree at university, but will be very useful when I come to apllying for jobs in the future, as it has given me insight into a large company, and the experience of responsibilty in a job

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was always busy in my office, but the people I sat with always chatted to me and everyone was extremely friendly and supportive. I was also lucky to have someone on the graduate scheme and another intern to chat to

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We were given a very in depth, professional presentation before applying and supported well throughout. However, there were some problems over our holiday and pay due to being employed by an agency

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a structured development program, with a personal brand workshop and facilitation skills course scheduled, as we as 2 group projects to work on. I was also encouraged to visit other areas of the business to gain deeper insight

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Although I don't have a particular interest in financial services, I found the work in my department interesting, and the atmosphere was great. I also think that Zurich treat its staff well and there are lots of opportunities, such as training available.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There weren't too many placement students in my department so i can't comment. But my other work collegues were great!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was lucky enough to live in bath with friends from university and travel to Swindon every day so I was lucky enough to have the university social life. However the cost of travelling every day was quite high

  • The nightlife in Bath is quite good, made better by the student population

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were opportunities to get involved in charity events and to socialise with the people on or people who had just finished the graduate scheme
