About You
From the beginning I was really made to feel another member of the team which made me feel so welcome. I was introduced to everyone in the office who made me feel it was in their best interest to make me feel welcome and to have the best experience during this week, all taking to time to explain their role and a bit about themselves. I was given real responsibilities rather over the week, rather than just being treated as a student there to watch what they did within their role. The fact that I gained hands on experience was the most enjoyable, as this is what I really hoped to do during my time. By the end of the week I was so sad to leave but everyone I worked with told me to stay in touch and that I am welcome back anytime to do work experience with them. I have even been invited to attend a social event next week if I am available.
I really felt valued by everyone, even if they werent in my department. I really felt as though I was pursuing a career in within the development team by the continuous tasks I performed and anytime I required support I was always helped until I fully understood. I felt as though my mentor really wanted me to have a valuable experience and because he had no appointments out of the office he arranged for me to join the residentual team for a house viewing and the rural team during an annual estate review. I gained experience not just within the department I was located too which I found really insightful. My mentor was really appreciative of the fact my degree wasn't RICS accredited so he made the effort to teach me the formula in order to perform a term and residual valuation. I attended meetings regarding a new development which my opinion upon was taken into account and actually used in order to reconfigure existing plans. I learnt so much during this week and loved every moment of it even though it was at times a challenge as all of it was new to me.
Whenever I needed any guidance I was always helped by a member of the team, even when my mentor was busy. I was never left in the dark and any questions I had they were happy to answer. They did challenge me, but I infact thrived upon the tasks they set me and managed to really get to grips with a particular computer software which I initially found tough to use.
The skills I have developed were all very new as my degree is not property related, however I feel as though I can only add upon these and have been given access to resources in order to continue teaching myself until I finish my degree and learn from other work experience or use when I partake in such.
The Company
I didn't feel as though there was a specific regime and the brief timetable wasn't really adhered too. I think my mentor felt a little left in the dark too but nevertheless I would not change the week apart form maybe going to a few more appointments.
Amazing I am so happy and have learnt more than I ever expected.
I felt as though I was a graduate beginning a permanent role as they gave me a real insight into the development team by giving me some of their jobs and tasks involved within this role.
I have always had a certain opinion of savills and they did not fail to meet me expectations. The strength of team dynamics and expertise was a real inspiration and an environment I want to pursue a career in and didn't want to leave.
Totally and not just within any property company, I want to work for Savills

I met everyone at the Chelmsford office, but may have liked to met some from other offices they continually have connections with.

They were organising social events/ sporting which I wish I could attend, but I have been invited to a quiz in the near future.
apart from going to china, in so far as enjoying learning and when comparing it to past work experience it was the best experience Ive ever had as its made me realise this is what I want to do with my life and wish this was my daily life and job from now rather than having to wait for the future.
