About You
Quite strenuous but very enjoyable! Highly recommend it.
Got to meet with various directors, whilst several more viewed and appraised our prepared presentations while analysts of varying experience met with us on numerous occasions as well as allowing us to shadow them. Everybody seemed genuinely pleased to be and interested in speaking with us.
We were presented on various topics to ensure our familiarity with them as well as given step-by-step tuition on using various pieces of company software.
Gained key skills in creating and presenting presentations as well as using proprietary research and various databases.
The Company
Very well structured with a clear and full time-table that was mostly adhered to. At times felt slightly rushed so perhaps increase the length of time of the insight may have been useful.
Although the word 'fun' might be a bit of a stretch, it was constantly engaging and interesting with a very welcoming yet professional atmosphere.
They've offered us fast-tracking opportunities for further internships within the company and taught us various skills and knowledge that will be beneficial to a further career in finance.
We had several sessions shadowing employees as they went about their daily routines which gave an excellent insight into different sectors within the bank.
You got to meet the people and see the office environment as opposed to just having to rely on the corporate 'spiel'.
It definitely left a marked impression on me, deciding to hopefully work for Rothschild and definitely work within the financial sector.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed travel, for those who lived too far to commute the offer of reimbursement for accommodation was offered. Vouchers were also provided for lunch as well as various snacks/refreshments throughout the day.
As aforementioned, we met with various directors and analysts as well as shadowed them throughout their day.
Although personally not a fan of most 'networking' opportunities, these were in more of a laid-back/casual style so I felt it to be more personal and thus more interesting and honest.
Yes, I learnt about their football team, their gym sessions as well as their trips to the pubs and clubs of a weekend.
Undoubtedly.
