About You
It was a very interesting couple of days, I found it very helpful with regards to choosing a branch of deloitte for my summer application.
This was pretty amazing to be honest, we were treated really well. We stayed at the Grange Hotel in London overnight, and also had a really good meal there. No one was ever patronising about us being 1st year students. I was given the impression that they really wanted to see us at the company in the future.
This was the point of the event. We had the opportunity to speak to people from all the branches of the company, and they were all very helpful and honest. On top of that, we were also given practice, and advice for the interview.
I don't think any of the issues dealt with are relevant to my degree studies, but that wasn't really the point of the exercise. It was helpful in terms of learning how to network, although that was just through the experience.
The Company
It was jam packed couple of days! Nothing was ever delayed.
Everyone I met, from the other students on the course, to the employees were very friendly.
They gave us loads of info w.r.t the company and their summer programme. It was clear they wanted us as the standard of everything they gave us was fantastic.
This is the entire point of the programme. We had the chance to speak to loads of people from different branches of the company.
Everyone we spoke to made a point of how their was a very friendly and supportive culture of the company. However, without actually having been inside their offices, it's hard to tell.
It would have been nice to have actually had the chance to go into the offices to see everything, but the programme was very good as a whole on this issue, thanks to the range of people we had the chance to speak to.
Everything Else
Travel expenses up to £50
We had dinner with senior associates, and there was a chance to speak one to one with almost everyone who spoke to us as a group.
Networking was good, it wasn't really a social event
This was the sort of thing that you had to be proactive and ask about, but yes, there was the opportunity to do this.
I haven't been on any other insights yet, but this one seemed really good. Loads of info, and we were treated really well with a posh hotel!
