About You
We were given presentations on each area of GFA from bankers from the relevant area then given the opportunity to shadow analysts in the various areas.
Given the nature of the firm, it has a very boutique firm work culture but still operates much like a large bank. Everyone was very helpful and were given numerous opportunities to network with Directors.
There was always at least one member of the HR team with the group and all the bankers were more than happy to answer questions and help where they can.
There is crossover between Economics and GFA therefore I feel I have an insight to things which other students may not and this gives me a different perspective on certain issues.
The Company
From start to finish it was very well structured, HR were in regular contact before and we were given a welcome pack with a timetable, expenses form etc
All the other interns were great and we all got on very well. As mentioned, Rothschild has a boutique feel to it
Given it was only a 3 day scheme, there is a limited to what can be taught but given the time, a lot of time was invested into us by numerous people.
A large part of this came down to the two separate lots of work shadowing
We were given numerous presentations on this but just by interacting with employees it was obvious what type of culture exists at Rothschild
Very valuable and full intend to pursue a career with Rothschild
Everything Else
Rothschild will pay for accommodation in The City or pay for travel expenses
Great networking opportunities, networking both with Graduates at an arranged lunch on the top floor and afternoon tea with Directors in the Directors room!
Very enjoyable and being able to network with senior members and graduates gives you both sides of the spectrum
Given it was a 3 day scheme, this was not apparent
100% - Rothschild is clearly a world leading firm and the culture is brilliant, as is the insight scheme!
