The Role
A very enjoyable internship - interns were given many opportunities to participate in work and social life and worked together on a group project over the weeks we were there.
Punter Southall arranged for technical training in the Guildford office, we also had training on the internal sites. Every task we were asked to do was explained well and colleagues were most happy to talk about the industry to build your background knowledge.
Apart from the first couple of days, I was very busy with both long-term projects (intern project), other calculations and data work. There was always something productive you could do for the company.
Well the training is technical so I suppose that's only useful for the industry but I certainly built up some valuable life skills, including developing a sense of responsibility, communication, presentation, liaising with other colleagues on work and prioritising work, to name a few.
The Company
Very friendly, relaxed, and hard working. Everyone was very helpful too and didn't mind you coming up to them and asking questions about the work they'd set you.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I very much enjoyed the placement and would definitely have accepted a graduate scheme there.
The Culture
Yes, from trips to the pub, celebrating after people had passed their exams, the Summer Party, there were many socials to attend!
Central London - sandwiches are not cheap!
Yes, there were games of cricket and runs which the interns were invited to take part in, and socials.
