  • Very interesting work, friendly team & a great overall experience.

  • Regularly given challenging tasks directly related to the pitch/deal the rest of the team was working on.

  • All questions/queries were answered - had to be proactive in asking for guidance. Received ample support from different members of the team.

  • 90-100 hour weeks regularly, including most weekends. To be expected in IBD really.

  • Given the pen on a number of pitches/presentations. Integrated as almost a full member of the team with the responsibility to match.

  • Refined a number of soft skills including time management, teamwork, attention to detail. Actual work quite different from degree studies.

  • HR regularly organised a number of informative/networking events and ensured times/locations were given out well in advance.

  • Went through 1 week of training at the start & received ample support from the team to ensure I was up-to-speed with what I needed to know to be in a position to return value.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Frequently went for drinks with the team. Allowing for time constraints given the nature of the work.

  • Canary Wharf is expensive, but the bulk of costs are taken care of by the company.

  • Plenty of opportunities if and when you have the time.
