    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the work at my placement although with any work some days are harder than others and I found myself getting bored with workinf on the same thing. Towards the end of my placement though my work became more varied and I was able to manage projects myself which made it more enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Accenure was a small team based at Microsoft but we all got on really well and worked well as a team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My team (both Accenture & Microsoft employees) were always willing to support and guide me on the work I was doing for them as well as help me plan my dissertation.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days I was very busy if we had a deadline approaching but I found this motivated me and made the day go quicker other days I would sometimes be a little bored but always found something to do!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given more repsonsibility towards the end of my placement when I was in charge of running my own projects. I always had the support of my team and turned to them when I was unsure of anything.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My skills developed alot whilst I was on placement, my confidence grew as I had to present my findings from my projects to our Microsoft clients as well as fellow Accenture employees.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It could be a bit quiet at times as the area we worked in was very busy.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was set well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given the opportunity to do online training courses and they set up an induction for when you first start to meet other Accenture employees from other teams and learn about the company.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • As Accenture work with a variety of different organisations the future employment prospects are very appealing as there is alot of variety but I am unsure yet what I want to do when I graduate so I am keeping an open mind!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I was the only placement student but the social scene with my team was great. My first day was at the summer party and there we were always organising bowling nights, sushi nights and the trip to Nice to see the Accenture Technology labs was a great perk!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading is ok, but it's what I have been used to since I turned 18!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are loads of clubs and socities set up by Accenture but you would have to travel to London for alot of them which was a negative point.
