    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Having completed the internship, I felt that this was the most natural transition into entering the industry for an undergraduate.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There was a good atmosphere among fellow interns, J.P. Morgan staff in general were very personable in my opinion.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager oversaw everything that I did, however this did not impede my progress. I merely received insightful tips when I needed any help.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The second half of the internship was especially strenuous, however this made it all the more realistic!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Delegated very minor responsibilities to start with. Managers would subsequently allocate more to you if they felt you were in a position to complete that task.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Great for soft-skills, as well as business acumen (it goes without saying!)

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was lively at times - people were very focussed on their task at hand though.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Brilliant job, as the introductions served as a great foundation for those without a finance degree

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Our progress was fed back to us, in that sense, the feedback was very much tailored to the individual/

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Have been offered a full-time position

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Many were left tired after the long days, although there was a group of interns that enjoyed a few nights out.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Relatively expensive, bearing in mind it is London - compensated adequately though!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in Canary Wharf is very average - mainly restaurants and the odd bar. Central London was just a short tube journey away!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I particularly enjoyed the day of volunteer work that we were involved in.

    4/5
