  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was a great experience as I met many different people and had a real taste of what working life after I graduate would be like.

  • I felt extremely valued by my colleagues and I was always treated as one of the team.

  • There was a great support system with a buddy, mentor and manager so there was always someone you could turn to.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was fairly busy with both the project I was given for the duration of the internship and the various events that were held every week for us.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a large amount of responsibility during my internship as I had to deliver a product that would then be used by the rest of the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt a wide variety of skills during my internship which had served to help me already in my last year at university.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Being on a trading floor while working in the technology department was the perfect mix. We had direct contact with some of our end users and it made for an enriching environment

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Everything was well organised and with so many events it would have been difficult to arrange but we always knew well in advance of the events and therefore could schedule our work around them.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We received a week of training that was extremely useful. Additionally further programming training and support from our team meant the company was really invested in our development.

  • After the internship, I received an offer for the graduate scheme

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All the interns organised events both during the internship and after via a facebook group.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As it was in the center of london it was not cheap.

  • Again as it was in the center of london there were many oppurtunities available.

  • Yes as stated before a facebook group for all the interns was a great way of keeping in touch.
