    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Loved spending the summer in Canary Wharf, really got a sense of the financial industry!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Outside of work hours, we got on well. However, everyone was very preoccupied with their own projects and deadlines - felt stressful at times.

  • Manager was always there, and willing, to answer and queries I had. I valued this contribution and feedback.

  • Hours were long, in particular, I logged 80 hours in one especially busy week.

  • Eased into the work so I was gradually given more meaningful tasks to complete.

  • Quite dull in general, not very lively as everyone was very work oriented

  • Flowed well, and felt as if it had been well thought out and structured accordingly

  • Lots of feedback from my manager, kept me on track for continual improvement (personal)

  • Not many offers given amidst the current economic climate!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Had a great time with a few other interns on nights out in London.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite expensive, however compensation from JP Morgan was more than adequate to cover these costs.

  • Very average, not many clubs in the area (Wharf)
