  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was well directed in the path I had to follow and was always able to ask questions and advice.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is always variation in the amount that was needed to be done day to day, but I always felt like I had something to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the responsability to run tests correctly and analyse results with the trust that I was doing things correctly. From a financial perspective, the cost of things I work with show that there is plenty for me to be responsible for.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think it has been very good to learn how to work within a large company because it has helped with an understanding of how engineering works in the real world. It has also been good to get some hands on experience which is always useful and a good work ethic.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It is a very relaxed atmosphere where it is very easy to go up to someone and talk. It is very easy to just take a minute and have a joke about something without really disrupting.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Things are generally very well organised but of course there can always be issues with organising in such a big company and it is generally fine.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training has been more on the job training as for this kind of work it is probably the best way.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They have said that if I wanted to come back that I would be more than likely to be accepted.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Like anything, when you get to know people to start to be more social and the relaxed working atmosphere helps this.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I already lived in the area so it is difficult for me to judge.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is some nightlife but it is very studenty and can vary a lot.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I do some singing, some drama and play badminton. There is plenty of different things to do around.

    4/5
