The Role
Enjoyable placement, not too stessful and at 6 weeks doesn't ruin your Summer.
Accepted into the team straight away, given responsibility and trusted by all employees I worked with.
Management and feedback structure well established. Given a people manager from the start who was responsible for support and guidance.
Perfect level of business. Busy enough to be stretching yourself and getting a real taste of work but not so busy that it run over to weekends/too late in the evening.
Given real responsibility very quickly, through individual taks and in client facing work.
Skills will be very relevant to future work in the industry. Less so for my degree studies, although if studying accountancy etc. would bear more relevance.
The Company
Office atmosphere was good. People seemed friendly and interns were invited to the office AGM.
Very well organised and well though out. Graduate recruitment in particular very helpful and the company as a whole is very receptive to feedback.
Was given a variety of different training excercises. Support for graduate employees studying the ACA very strong.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Employ a majority of interns. Generally considered as hard if not harder to get an internship than a job offer.
The Culture
Very good. Got on well with fellow interns, often would end the day in the pub with the rest of the group. In stark contrast to what I have heard from other interns in other companies.
Relatively expensive, particular as I was unable to stay at home and had to find and pay for my own accomodation.
Social scene was good. A variety of different locations and a young office dynamic.
Plenty of opportunities, keenly encouraged to get involved. I personally played football organised by the office each week.
