The Role
It was a great experience. I have developed a number of transferable skills in an environment that i felt happy going back every day.
Was treated like a former employee, always asked and trusted my opinions.
Manager was helpful when around although she had to be away for a long time with sick leave during my internship. Managed to deal ok though and that boosted my confidence since i was the one that had to make the decisions and act accordingly.
I had managed to balance my duties so that i would not stay late. I stayed later sometimes but that was only because i had chosen to finish some things earlier.
Full responsibility of the main project
i worked in an environment i had not worked before so i developed a number of skills i can transfer to a future job
The Company
Neutral. Everybody busy with their work. But always friendly and chaty when having a break!
It was well organised with exhibition at the end with the achievements of the interns and well talks about various subjects in between about the organisation. CV and application course as well provided
Although there only for 12 weeks i was given the chance to attend an intrantet editors course and become a qualified intranet editor. I could also attend any other IS training i needed.
Started applying for some positions and waiting for outcome
The Culture
Bonded really well with a fellow intern at the same office. Didnt have the chance to socialise with other interns though, althouhg social events were organised, because i was busy with my PhD outside the internship.
We could always find good lunch deals and always go out with fellow intern for lunch
Never went out here. but there were lots of places around for people that could go out
Not really. We could have a sports day or something like that midway internshiop
