The Role
It was a really valuable experience that I would reccommend to anyone,
Very warmly welcomed by everyone; invited to after work social events (Friday night drinks, office BBQ, 5-a-side football).
My people manager was there if I had any concerns or queries and on each individual job the team leader was always at hand to answer any questions and give me guidance.
The majority of day I was very busy; one of the weeks I was perhaps even two busy as I was asked to work on three different projects simultaneously and had to divide my time between them. There were the odd job when I was between jobs and there was little for me to do but that was to be expected really.
I was given the same responsibility as a first year graduate employee - so plenty of responsibility.
As I have been offered a job with the firm I really stand in good stead to get off to a flying start when I join next year. Learnt a lot about the computer programmes you use during an audit and also general experience of working in a professional environment.
The Company
Very friendly and pleasant. Relaxed while still remaining very professional.
Pretty well, we were kept well informed prior to the placement on during the placement about the various tasks we had to complete and where we had to be at certain times.
We had three full days of training down in London where all expenses were paid and we got extensive training on the stuff we would need to know. There was also a Development Day halfway through the internship where we could choose a specific skill we wished to be trained in - ours was Negotiation.
Got offered a job on the final day of my placement. Delighted.
The Culture
Yes - one of the best things about the placement. We went out for drinks one night each week and have continued to do that since the placement ended. Also 5-a-side football with some of the other lads in the office.
It was in a fairly expensive city - just the prices you would expect really.
The best in Scotland - really good night out.
5-a-side football, Friday night drinks, office BBQ...
