The Role
It was a great insight into the working world that I wish to move into.
Socially and at work colleagues were friendly and passed responsibility over.
Everyone was happy to help and answer questions so I felt comfortable asking for help at any time.
Some days were busier than others but there were training activities to do in any down time and people were approachable enough to ask for more things to do.
By the end of the 6 weeks I had daily and weekly tasks that were my own responsibility.
Team work skills in a more realistic environment than university courses were really useful and the organised mindset of working has been really useful.
The Company
The office had a really friendly atmosphere and therefore I had lunch with all sorts of different groups and went for drinks regularly with my team so got to know them and the other interns really well.
Everything was very well organised although there was a little more down time than I would have liked!
There are a few e learning sessions made available to interns but team members were regularly on training courses or being sent e learning activities.
Subsidised Canteen
I was offered a job along with some of the other interns I worked with on the merit of our work on the internship.
The Culture
Organised social events at least weekly and informal pub trips organised individually. We all got on so well that we had a big night out together on our last day!
Central London is never cheap but you quickly pick up the better value places to go and the pay you get reflects the cost of living.
This is biased obviously as central London has an excellent nightlife with so many options to chose from.
Lots of opportunities exist to volunteer and be involved in other activities but this is a bit harder as an intern as you're only there for 6 weeks but when you join for real the opportunities are endless.
