    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • J.P. Morgan was a very enjoyable company to work for. My colleagues were friendly, approachable and extremely willing to help (I include senior management within this). HR also organised social events for our intern cohort which enhanced the experience and enabled us to bond well.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Feedback was given often therefore I was regularly told that I was really adding value to the team. Even now I have left, many of them have stayed in touch.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When given tasks by my manager, they were always explained well. I was also told about how I was expected to use initiative in some cases which helped me feel at ease making my own decisions. They were always willing to answer my questions.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Banking roles are always going to be busy let's face it, however, work/life balance is extremely important at JP Morgan and managers would often frown upon making us work long hours, it was really up to me about how long I wanted to spend at work/how quickly I completed tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was more of a 'learning' internship than being given responsibility. The career potential from this internship is immense!

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As above, the career potential is incredible. I have learnt what it is like to work for one of the world's leading banks, I have developed networking, interpersonal, technical and corporate perspective skills which I know will benefit me hugely in the future.
