    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I couldn't say it was the best job ever, as I feel international pop sensation amongst other things would be more dynamic. However, it was certainly a great job.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Initially I didn't feel particularly valued, however as the internship progressed I felt my professional contribution became valuable to our team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was an enjoyable training week at the start of the program. In the office the people were approachable and open, however I didn't find I needed a huge level of support.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varied. I found when on projects I had lots to do, which was great. However, when not on projects I only had small tasks and spent almost as much time trying to find things to do as actually doing them!

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Again varied. I've given this 8, as on my final project I really felt responsible for my section of the report, and I enjoyed the responsibility. Before then my work was much more heavily monitored and doctored.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learned will not help with my degree studies at all. However, I learned about the operation of a consulting practice and got a really good insight into consulting as a career. I also got a good overview of corporate life in general. I think the information and experience I built up have really enhanced my overall awareness of the professional world.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed and friendly in the office. Good and regular social evenings.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From a firm-wide perspective, very well. The initial training week was great. From a departmental perspective not so well as I went through a long period without being resourced to a project.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
