    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a fantastic experience. The internship gave me a much clearer picture of the industry, valuable contacts, and important skills - and I had a lot of fun as well.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There was mutual respect among the interns, and everyone had something to contribute.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a mentor to help me get familiar with the bank and answer and questions I had. She was very genuine and gave good advice.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I usually arrived between 7 to 9, depending on the activity planned for the day. Work ended at around 7 and we usually worked on our group project after that till 10.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Since it was a week-long internship, there was not much to do in the form of work. However, each group was responsible for giving a presentation at the end of the week.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The 2 days of training at the beginning gave me a good perspective of the industry, and the soft skills I picked up are still useful to me now.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The lectures were good, but 2 full days of lectures can get dull at times. The subsequent 3 days of desk rotations were very enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The bank was well-prepared for the interns. The HR team responded very quickly to any queries , and ensured that the programme flowed smoothly.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Good culture, global bank, clear investment into staff.

  • Yes, the interns mostly got along well and met up after work.

    4/5

  • Living and going out in central London was not cheap.
