The Role
I loved every minute of it. Working for ASOS reaffirmed my career choice of buying.
We all worked as a team, helping each other out when needed. And our line managers always made sure our hard work was recognised.
My line manager taught me so much about the industry. Taking me on buying trips and asking me to do things above and beyond what I expected an intern would be given, I loved the responsibility I had but they were always there to guide me.
I was always very busy. Not having an Assistant Buyer in the team gave everyone a bigger work load but I never felt like it was too much to handle and as mentioned before we all worked as a team helping each other out.
I felt like I was given a lot of responsibility helping out my buyer on a day to day basis. Dealing with amendments and communicating with suppliers on all levels. As Well as range planning. I felt like my opinion actually mattered which was very refreshing as an intern.
I have 100% learnt more in my time as an ASOS intern than I have in my entire course so far at University. Not only have I learnt about the fashion industry I have learnt life skills, including time management and confidence. ASOS have helped me feel completely prepared for the 'real world' once I finish my degree.
The Company
ASOS do know how to have fun, but it is a business and work can be quite serious. There wasn't much of a fun atmosphere in the office but none less than any other work place. - Outside of the office was a completely different story!
I learnt a lot on my placement, but did feel like the intern breakfast mornings were cancelled and rearranged A LOT. We didn't get one every month like we were supposed. But the morning that were planned were very informative, fun. and interesting.
We were invested in as much as any of the full time entry level staff, we were never made to feel separate to the business, but as ASOS already know they are having to re think the way training is given... ( I had none and learnt on the job)

I'd really love to come back and work for ASOS. I feel very loyal to them.
The Culture
Yes, we were all friends it was lovely.
London Prices, as to be expected.
Vast. London is massive and everything is a tube or bus ride away.
ASOS always made sure to send emails notifying us on activities outside of work.
