    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The work was varied and interesting and my colleagues very friendly and helpful.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I really enjoyed working with my colleagues. I felt like one of the team rather than a placement student.Everyone was very friendly from the start.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • At no point did I feel out of my depth in the work given to me. The support and help was excellent and I was pushed in the complexity and volume of work at a pace which assisted my learning greatly.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • During the busy periods (companies year ends) I was very busy. During the quiet periods it was quite quiet, so it really depends on which part of the year your in!!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt i was given as much responsibility as I could be given, considering my experience.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe they will help me greatly, although I cannot prove this as I have not undertaken any studies since.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but at the same time encouraged efficient working.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My office had not had a placement student for a while so I think they ere unsure of what kind of candidate they would get. To my mind I was treated as any graduate is, which was exactly what I wanted from my placement.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I undertook 3 residential courses and significant on the job training during my time. I did nto undertake any professional examinations. I believe my training was good and enabled me to effectively complete my work.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I received a job offer 2 months prior to my completion.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were no other placement students as I was in a very small office. I would say staff organised events for about once a month from our office which was good.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Farnham / Surrey is very expensive. but if you grew up here or in london then you get used to it. Farnham is also a small town so for a nightclubs/ cinema's etc you have to go to a nearby town.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Only a few pubs, no clubs and not that late opening hours. Guildford is 15 minutes away which has all that. Basingstoke is 20 minutes away also.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I grew up in the town next to farnham, so didn't look for any of these activities, so I wouldn't know.

    3/5
