    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working for Deloitte was a pleasure and the 7 weeks went really fast. The work was interesting and I learnt a lot.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As an intern you can't expect too much responsibility but the work I did contributed to the client directly.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • During the placement we were paired up with a "buddy" - a graduate employee who was there to answer any questions. If they weren't around on a job, everyone in the team was willing to help out and answer my questions.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was always work to be done and I was never sat around with nothing to do which was great.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was writing letters to clients, speaking face to face with clients and contributing to an audit.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I improved research skills, teamworking, IT skills and communication which are all relevant to university and I value these skills going into 3rd year.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • This depended on how much work there was, the date of the deadline and the job at hand. Generally, the atmosphere was quiet, productive but friendly.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was emailed well in advance of each job/client by someone in the team who sent me the information I needed. We spent half a week in a hotel team building with other SVS students which was good.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I learnt a lot from the experience and I'm hoping to start as a graduate in 2013.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5
