    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The Spring Insight Week was a well balanced placement with a variety of exercises and work shadowing to suit individuals interested in the different business areas operated by the bank.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The whole week was based around a team, in my case everyone valued each other to the highest degree.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management (HR) team could not do enough to help you. The mentors who were used for work shadowing were also incredibly supportive.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As aforementioned there are a variety of exercises used throughout the week, you will certainly not be bored!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • With this being an Insight Week naturally there is a limit to the amount of responsibility one can expect to receive. However, in areas where it was possible the maximum amount of responsibility possible was passed over to us (the participants).

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The Spring Insight Week is an incredibly useful experience.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A dynamic environment would be the best way to describe it.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation, from logistics, to talks, to lunch was perfect.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The Spring Insight Week is all about the participants.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have been offered a summer internship in 2013 that will hopefully lead on to a job.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • When possible yes!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Accommodation, transport, lunch and some social events were paid for by the firm.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It's London so great, but there wasn't really any time to experience this.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The week was non-stop so again there wasn't much time.
