    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I felt completely at ease and interested by almost all of the tasks.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As this was an insight there was a distinct lack of direct communication with people within the business, however I felt accepted and appreciated by my peers

  • It was a very well managed program.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At all times we were kept busy doing a wide range of tasks from work shadowing to investment games.

  • There were a lot of presentations, however one must remember this was a spring insight week and is to be expected.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that I gained a firm understanding of financial markets in the week and it made me confident that this was the career for me.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although this wasn't an "office" as such it was an atmosphere that everyone was enjoying and benefitting from the experience.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There is no doubt that the flow and precision involved was greatly appreciated by all involved, I felt like it was very clockwork and almost perfect at all times.

  • It was evident that a lot of time and effort had gone into the planning.

  • I desperately want employment with the firm following my internship.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all got on very well as a group of like-minded individuals.

  • Having lived in a very different environment the prices were somewhat astonishing.
