The Role
Interesting projects which allowed me to practice skills learnt at university.
Some teams were quite close knit but mine only really set me solo projects and didn't interact with me much.
Supervisor helped me out when I needed it and sorted me out with my paperwork when I arrived and left.
Towards the end of the year I wasn't set many projects and was left to just read my emails.
Didn't feel like they gave me much responsibility but I think that was don to the team you are assigned to.
When working on projects it was like practicing lab work back at university so I feel more comfortable with using the required skills when returning for my next year.
The Company
The people in my office weren't too interesting, but I got on better with other people my own age in other buildings.
Only issue was my security clearance when I arrived, it took them a month to sort it out, but otherwise it was easy to start work there.
My team eader tried to set me tasks which focused on areas of engineering I wished to practice.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
I wouldn't mind working there but it isn't what I wish to do for a career.
The Culture
All the new starteds met up for lnch and went to organised events.
The area was quite expensive in terms of rent.
Very close to London so nightlife was great. 30 mins train from London Charing Cross.
Lots of club are operated by members of Dstl, emails are sent round to everyone to get people going.
