  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I didn't feel it was the right area for me

  • My managers very rarely recognised my work as being of a high standard, and made me feel like I was wasting my time

  • A couple of managers took the time out to sit down with me and explain when I did not understand

  • I was often left with nothing to do but was expected to work long hours

  • Not much responsibility, no interaction with clients

  • Time management skills will be useful but not financial skills

  • Not very welcoming or friendly between desks

  • HR organised it well with two separate rotations to get different exposure

  • One of training at the beginning of the internship including excel training and introduction to financial markets

  • Difficult to say as the wealth management department is to be sold

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes quite often we would go for drinks after work with other interns

  • Very expensive - in London generally

  • Lots of great things to do and places to go
