    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Supervisors were all good. Generally senior and very experienced but willing to spend a lot of time and effort on the interns. Much management etc. was delegated so I got to work with a variety of different team members.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In general, as busy as one wanted to be. There was a lot of scope to put lots of effort into projects but nobody expected anyone to gratuitously kill themselves.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Inevitably the real responsibilities that can be given to an intern are to an extent limited by there was a lot of room given to take projects as far as possible and explore ideas and new solutions independently. In this sense, I had a lot of responsibility for the areas on which I was working and the ability to take a lead in them.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A lot of skills and new ideas learnt, from the small and immediately useful (e.g. IT skills) to a much broader understanding of the financial world, especially when exposed to such accomplished and experienced professionals.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Professional, but friendly. Good camaraderie amongst colleagues. Clearly a much calmer and more intoverted atmosphere than any buyside role - not a lot of shouting a running around.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Well organised with clear intitial structure but with the opportunity of flexibility to suit interns needs

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Good introduction to fund management day with outside company that provided a useful general introduction.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
