  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall, working as an intern for enterprise has been a great experience. You get to do a lot of things and get a good overview of what it takes to run their branches. I would definitely recommend interning for them as this is the best way to see if their corporate culture suits you!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At the airport branch where i have been working everyone is really close. This helps getting through the day and makes the experience very fun.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management team at my branch were great. The are kind and supportive and are there for you when you need help. They are also willing to give you plenty of responsibility which helps you learn. Higher management are all also very relaxed and make you feel welcome within the company. Everyone starts as a management trainee at the company and therefore can appreciate the effort you put in.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Working over the summer at the airport definitely means a lot of work. You will be put under a lot of stress and find yourself in situations where you deal with multiple customers simultaneously over the phone and at the counter.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Expect to be making a lot of decisions yourself. Even though you can ask for help often it is up to you to decide how solve a situation.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that this internship gives you a good basis for becoming a management trainee at a company or even assistant manager. It really helps you see the many aspects of running a business and prepares you for your future job.

  • The atmosphere is very relaxed. However, you are required to work very hard and be at the top of your game at all times so don't expect to be slacking!

  • Very happy with how the internship was set up. Training week, days/nights out etc are planned making it more than a job.

  • You definitely feel that the company values you and your skills. They are very eager to retain their employees and therefore also invest a lot of time and money into your training.

  • Everyone in my group of interns got a long very good and found time to hang out outside of work.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I communted to edinburgh but the cost of living depends what branch you are placed in and how far you have to travel every day.

  • Edinburgh is quite good for a night out!

  • To some extent, in terms of event days etc.
