    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work itself was quite close as to what to expect from a graduate position. Varied from week to week, mixing between office weeks and client visits. Day to day tasks mainly involved performing audit tests, but additional tasks included researching new and existing clients.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Felt like a member of the team straight away, felt that as you did more tasks, more interesting ones came your way too.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Good verbal feeback, most of the associates I worked with also did a summer internship with the firm too so they understood what it was like. There was also weekly written feedback too.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Kept busy most of the time, and always left at reasonable hours (usually with the other associates too). Any 'down time' was filled by doing one of the few placement long intern projects.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Never felt out of my depth, but you also had a lot of exposure to clients and were left to do your own work if you were comfortable with it.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Despite doing a non accounting degree I gained a good work ethic and team working skills on the job too.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Young crowd with a good atmosphere, lunch time ping pong in the office helped get to know quite a few of the current graduates.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Induction through to scheduling my time was really well organised and also flexible, all I had to do was ask to see different industries and with relative ease it was achieved.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Decent induction left me with little questions to ask when on site, so I guess the time they invested in getting me up to speed was sufficient to fulfill the role they gave me.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • At time of writing have not completed the scheme, however I feel relatively confident that the final interview should not have any nasty surprises!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Induction was aimed at introducing everyone to each other, and then the firm organised socails for us too. Within a few days I felt really comfortable around the other placement students.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • SE England is never going to be too cheap, however we were paid pretty well for the scheme. Much better pay than a bar job or anything like that.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Crawley is not the best place to go out in, but London was only 30mins away and I know the area well so I knew decent places to go.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Office teams for football and netball existed, however I never really played football and am not a girl, so I didnt get involved!

    4/5
